And she brought forth her firstborn, a son…and put him in a diaper, the first of hundreds he would wear – diapers that would not be covered by WIC, diapers that might strain the family budget. Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabella…and bring a couple of boxes of Pampers as well.
This Christmas season, in honor of the infant born in humble circumstances, we will be collecting diapers and wipes to offer to families at Housing Families First, a short-term shelter for children and adults transitioning from homelessness to stable housing. Any size diapers are needed, particularly size 3 and up. Other top needs include deodorant (non-scented), hand soap, new pillows, and kitchen sized trash cans & trash bags.
We will host a drive-thru collection on Saturday, December 19, at Chamberlayne Heights UMC (6100 Chamberlayne Rd) from 10am-11am and can make other arrangements for those unable to come at that time (just let Sheryl know you have items to donate.). If the weather cooperates, we will also enjoy some parking-lot fellowship and goodies, so bring your mask and a chair and stick around for some Christmas cheer!
And thank you for never-failing generosity!
