To worship someone or something is to ascribe worth to that person or object.  When we take time to worship God, we are saying that God is worthy of our time and attention.  Worship reminds us how God is both beyond the range of human experience and knowing, yet completely present within and among us.

While worship can happen anytime and anyplace, individually or corporately, it is an important element of our shared life together as a community of disciples. Corporate worship reminds us that we are not alone in this journey, and no matter where we might find ourselves – cursing or blessing; doubting or believing; grieving or rejoicing – there is a place for us. Our weekly worship is a place to gather together our faith stories from the other six days of the week, and then let the hour together in prayer, readings, sermon, and song lend impetus to our faithful living in the week to come.

At Ginter Park Baptist, we subscribe to the free church tradition and are not bound to any denominational style or creed in our worship. We primarily use the Revised Common Lectionary in selecting our scripture texts for each service. Worship planning is a joint effort of the ministerial staff and lay leaders. We begin each service with ten minutes of centering music and prayer starting at 10:20am, and then worship begins at 10:30am. Whether you prefer to dress in “Sunday best” or be comfortable and casual, you are welcome in this space!
